Kelley's Story

In October of 2007, Kelley became paralyzed from the waist down from inflammation of her spinal cord, caused by a condition known as transverse myelitis. She is currently on what has turned out to be a long and difficult road to recovery. But recovery is occuring. She has made encouraging progress in motor function, and she is fully committed to walking again. If you want to help Kelley in her effort through much needed financial support, you can either send a donation as described under the fundraising tab below, or you can also purchase a copy of "3 women, 3 Hundred Miles" through the following website www.carrclifton.com (click on the publishing tab at this website, which also includes a paypal option for payment). This 65 minute documentary chronicles a self support adventure on river boards down the Colorado River, by Kelley Kalafatich, Julie Munger, and Rebecca Rusch. The story is original and engaging, and the imagery of the Canyon is spectacular. This blog is a forum to keep updated on Kelley's progress, as well as for you to post messages for Kelley to read. Kelley will be in intense physical therapy for the next few days! The nurses will only allow family during her physical therapy hours. Kelley will be tired. PLEASE RESPECT KELLEY AND HER NEED FOR PRIVACY AND REST!
